1099 Forms

February 6th, 2008

Brothers and Sisters,
There is some new information regarding the issuing of 1099 forms from the union. The 1099 forms are issued to us by the union to report miscellaneous income (i.e. $150 strike checks). However they are ONLY issued if the amount you received was $600 or more! Most of us only received three strike checks totaling $450.

Therefore only members who had duplicate checks dated 2007 will receive them, which is only about 9 members total. In other words, we no longer have to wait to receive a 1099 form before filing our income tax returns!

Local Lodge 933 does not advise on any personal income tax requirements or issues. As with any tax related questions please consult a qualified tax consultant.
